INTERVIEW | Author Chandran Nair wants them to take a stand - that this is no different from white racists in US.

Institutionalised racism is crippling the nation, according to author and think-tank founder Chandran Nair, who is appealing to the Malays, especially the young, to voice their rejection of race-based ideologies.

“This state-built architecture is led by the elite Malays, not ordinary Malays,” he told Malaysiakini. “A direct comparison can be made with white supremacists and the most recent example in the US is Donald Trump. He exposed how widespread white supremacy is in that country. Chandran said the situation in Malaysia is more dire where the iniquitous tentacles of institutionalised racism are wrapped around key sectors such as education and the economy.

Jika anda nk hapuskan hak bumiputra kami pn akan tuntut kerajaan dan raja2 melayu hapuskan kerakyatan puak jus soli yg diberi kerakyatan tidak ikut perlembagaan sms merdeka.Try it!!jgn jdi ratusan cina msia koyak pasport kt London sampai skrg jdi rakyt xde negara kt sana.Try la!!

You wanna the bumiputera to give up their right but refuse to let go your own. Talking is easy but do you dare to step into kampung and say 'pakcik, no more bumi right for you' i bet you asking parang at your neck.

We still behind Thailand Indonesia & Vietnam! Next Laos will take over!

Berita pun dalam english..majority billionaire dalam malaysia pun orang bukan melayu, sekolah vernakular bersepah-sepah pun salah kan orang melayu juga.. itu belum masuk sektor pekerjaan swasta yang racist lagi.. jngan kata benda tu semua theori la, aku sendiri pnah kena..

malays? kah kah pantek aje la dorang ni balik balik melayu jugak kena🤣 dasar kontol

Moreover the reason for vernacular education system to be abolished. Unity must come from the roots.

job requirement: -mandarin speaker

Sistem apa yg racist? Cer bagitau. Kalau kau nak hentam UMNO, hentam UMNO, jgn pukul pukal sistem ke Melayu ke.

Ini semua salah Melayu

Fat fucking chance. Why would you speak out against a system that benefits you? Talking about rich Malays by the way, who are the 1% of their brethren enjoying the benefits.

It happened long time ago when you wanna talk about rights and racism

Melayu je racist, bangsa lain suci bersinar semuanya..

I do agree and hate racism

Malays? Lmao

what is this racist headline?

Malays who are triggered by this headline can't get this in their head - this is the same everywhere. For change to happen, the majority population must break silence on systemic racism. Be it the Hindus in India, Whites in America/UK/Australia, Jews in Israel, Arabs in ME.

when seeking jobs at chinamen companies...'mandarin speakers preffered' 🤦‍♀️

Not just the Malays, but the other races too. From house renting preference to job requirements (where a certain language requirement is placed without justification). Remember equality cuts both ways. I would say no to vernacular schools & higher institutions like UiTM.

For change; in multi racial & multi religion social nation, party base with races & religion should thrashed.

Do we need to pretend MalaysiaKini giving or making offensive sensitive articles On what basis Bumiputera, the Perlembagaan is a racist system when top10 richest people in Malaysia is non-Malays and why the minorities like to exaggerate things up like there are ethnic cleansing?

Abolish vernacular school system. Org Cina India sekolah kebangsaan elok je blend dgn bumiputra. Mana yg sekolah vernacular ni pandang melayu atas bwh mcm geli geliman.

Di malaysia ni melayu saja kena berkorban & berubah. Non malays dpt hak warganegara, hak kebebasan beragama, kebebasan berbudaya, pendidikan, pekerjaan, kumpul kekayaan. Tapi kita minta mereka korban SATU ja (bahasa ibunda) demi perpaduan nasional, pun tak mau. Tapi demand mcm2

Yup. The Malay should push for one school system. Enough of division and divergent. Combine the Chinese syllabus and let our kid mix around to learn the true meaning of unity.

this is ironic , you can't fight racism while being racist we know that any page/article/person that use Malays instead of bumiputera are racist because there are also non malay bumiputera from now on the word malay should be replace with bumiputera what a bunch of hypocrites

An idiot article from an idiot person that just like teaching duck how to fly.

Here we go again... warga yang ditindas bersuara menidakkan undang2 tertinggi negara!

kalvinderjit Sadly, This will never happen. The ppl speaking up are very small in numbers. The people on the fence just need some idiot from Pas or Umno to yell 'hak2 dicabar' and they fall on the other side. The group of people enjoying and abusing the privilage will nvr speak against it

Uplift the Orang Asli first.

Lets all unite to abolish the racist race-based schools to start the ball rolling.

Then what about the language aka mandarin requirement when applying for jobs? Or promotion? Everytime... it's the malay that needs to sacrifice? Don't let me start about 1 school system. R u willing to support it?

The one who still stuck with this are the Oldies, get a moving on grandpa its 2021, we are no longer Malays, Chinese, Indians , Sabahan , Sarawakians. We are Malaysians

We need revolusi minda 3.0 for that to happen. Probably take 2 generation to be effective if we start the engagement now

History & anthropology evidence has proof that Malays, too, are settlers & immigrants. The Colonial Masters have designed the geographical boundaries & social make up.Ruling the country for the past 64 years, we can judge the maturity of Malay’s civilization & intellectuality.

orang asli which is the original people of this land and the natives in sabah sarawak is most marginalized. many are still poor and lacks basic infrastructures in their villages.

How to unite when some of us can't even speak Bahasa Kebangsaan properly? Hence, education system

This nation belongs to all citizens n not for one particular community only.

Start with one education system this no 1 otherwise theres no harmony and malysia become fragile

probably can start with hving only one educational school system, in the US there's no vernacular school.

Its is a constitutional rights, NOT a racist system. Other races MUST accept that Bumiputera will has the rights on certain things. If other races still dispute it, there will be no end to this racist outcry. It will be worst if the Bumiputera unite solidly under one banner.

Let me share something my Malay Friends share with me. The Bumi rights Is a way for rich bumi to get richer And poor bumi to be poorer Example Housing Discount Rich Bumi Landlord gets the discount Poor Tenant pays full price regardless of bumi or not

It requires sacrifices from all races all Malaysian.

expecting m0nk3ys to change?

If this institutionalized racism persists Malaysia may disintegrate soon!

IMMikhailHafiz Why would the majority race with special privileges want to break silence?

How did Malay Nationalism mooted by ONN JAFAR and UMNO in the 1940 s turned out to become hardcore ' RACE Cards' Politics today

Oh, definitely. But there are just too many elements that will bring us trouble when we do speak out. Powerful figures that anti-racism should do their due diligence to not only speak with us, but also to protect us.

Never

For change to happen politicians shd stop their racist chants, distrust , repeated cries if championing race. Enough we are all african !

Jokers

A racist sytem that was inaugurated by proponents of identity politics which uphold racial supremacy as its mainstay among the Malays. Such arbitrary governance will be hard to overcome due its overbearing authority. For change to happen current dispositions must be altered.

Quota

Oh, when will one among our Malay and Non-Malay brethrens rise above such policies to set the wrong right?

Only political power can end institutional racism. That's why all right thinking Malays, Chinese, Indians and Indigenous must come together in one political party to win the next general election.

Malaysians must unite. We want to save Malaysia, we must unite. Eliminate corrupted leaders. We must see people as Malaysian, not by race. I still have hope.

So as to say, those powerful Malay elites are like those White Supremacists of US , instigated by Trump to hate other races as what was Ku Klux Klan did during the old American of 1800 against the slave Blacks !

no way...we are not stupid

For change to happen one must not overcare about pinggan dan mangkuk

Duh...that wont happen. Who wants to give up special privileges for themselves and their future generations? A more realistic thing to hope as a wake up call is for total economic ruin where there is not much to go around. Otherwise, dont even think about equality.
