JOHOR BARU: The number of flood victims seeking shelter at the temporary relief centres statewide continue to see a decline with less than 4,000 people as of 4pm Friday (Jan 27).

"A total of six relief centres were closed between noon and 2pm, while three others, two hours later.

"There are currently only 38 centres that remain open at the seven affected districts," it said in a statement. It added that Mersing has the highest number of victims , followed by Kluang , Kota Tinggi , Batu Pahat , Segamat , Tangkak and Muar ."Only Johor Baru, Muar, Batu Pahat and Tangkak experienced some rain at around 2pm before the weather turns bright again," it said.
