PETALING JAYA: No new Covid-19 cases or clusters were recorded at temporary flood relief centres nationwide on Thursday (Jan 13), says Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

In his daily statement, the Health director-general said the total number of cases at relief centres remained at 15 while the total number of cases among flood victims remained at 470.

"However, there were four cases of infectious diseases recorded among victims at flood relief centres. Of the four, two contracted an acute respiratory infection and another two had skin conditions,” he said. Dr Noor Hisham added that out of the 3,684 new Covid-19 cases recorded on Thursday , only 34 cases or 0.9% were in Categories Three, Four and Five with the remaining 3,650 cases or 99,1% being in Categories One and Two.

Three states and two territories recorded an infectivity rate value of 1.0 or higher with the current national value standing at 0.99.Dr Noor Hisham also reminded those affected by the floods to follow the standard operating procedures during evacuations, while cleaning flood stricken areas or throughout their stay at relief centres.
