JOHOR BARU: Five teachers and 14 children have been rescued from a kindergarten here that was hit by floods Sunday (Sept 25) morning.

Larkin Fire and Rescue Department commanding officer Nazarudin Yusof said a team was dispatched to Kampung Mohd Amin at around 9.30am to rescue the victims.“The children were sitting on their desks to avoid the floodwaters while waiting for us to arrive.

“We made sure they were all safe and sound before ending the operation at 10.45am," he added.In Johor Baru, areas such as Batu 10 in Skudai, Kampung Dato Sulaiman Menteri, Tabula Kemas in Skudai Kiri, Kampung Mohd Amin, Kampung Ubi, Kampung Tiram Duku, Kampung Peladang, Kampung Baru Muafakat, Kampung Pekajang and Kanpung Paya Mengkuang were flooded following a few hours of rain in the morning.
