KUALA LUMPUR: Former Goldman Sachs banker Roger Ng, who has been extradited to the United States to face charges related to 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) there, is expected to be back in Malaysia after June 1.

KUALA LUMPUR: Former Goldman Sachs banker Roger Ng , who has been extradited to the United States to face charges related to 1Malaysia Development Bhd there, is expected to be back in Malaysia after June 1.

At the High Court here, Ng - whose birth name is Ng Chong Hwa - is facing four counts of abetting Goldman Sachs pertaining to the sale of guaranteed notes and bonds belonging to a 1MDB subsidiary, amounting to US$6.5bil , by omitting material facts and making false statements. "Since the accused has been scheduled to return after June 1, maybe a date after that would be suitable," she said here on Tuesday .

"I was informed that the earliest the trial could start is by the end of June or maybe in July because the New York Court was closed after Oct 1 last year and it has just reopened. So the old cases will be coming up first.Justice Muhammad Jamil Hussin then fixed June 15 for the next case management.
