PORT DICKSON: An engineer has been detained by police for allegedly driving a four-wheel drive vehicle against the flow of traffic before crashing into two cars at the 26km mark of the Seremban-Port Dickson Highway.

Port Dickson OCPD Supt Aidi Sham Mohamed said test results showed that the 29-year-old man was drunk behind the wheel.

Besides his four-wheel drive, the incident at 2.45am yesterday also involved two other cars, said Supt Aidi Sham. “The 31-year-old driver of one of the cars suffered a broken thigh bone and was sent to Hospital Port Dickson. “The 24-year-old driver of another car and his two passengers, aged 23 and 25, escaped injuries,” he said in a statement, according to Bernama.

Supt Aidi Sham said the suspect, who was unhurt, was taken to the Seremban Magistrate’s Court for a remand order, adding that the case is being investigated under Section Section 44 and Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987.
