A 80-year-old man perished after a fire razed his house in Kiulu in the foothills of MountKinabalu, Sabah on Sunday. Read more at

Firemen found the body of 80-year-old Cgung Pau Sang @ Joseph Chung within the razed wooden structure in Kampung Tembongon Giuk in Kiulu sub-district, Tuaran about 50km from here.

A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department said the charred remains were found among the debris at about 12.15am on Sunday .According to a Department spokesman, they received a distress call at 11.29pm on Saturday. Eleven firemen from the Tuaran station led by officer Azaran Jull rushed to the scene about 25kms away.

On arrival, the team had found the house already been destroyed and they completely put out the fire by 12.40am.The spokesman said that investigations on the cause of the fire are underway.
