Effective approaches to tackle Lahad Datu garbage issue

LAHAD DATU: The Local Authority and the cleaning concession is taking effective approaches to overcome the issue of garbage and cleanliness in this district.

“All parties should be together in this matter so that our district is clean and beautiful, while providing comfort and improving the image of Lahad Datu,” he said at a Gotong Royong Madani programme and the Cleanest Village Competition at Lahad Datu water villagers. The programme at Kg Puyut Village Hall focused on efforts to clean coastal residential areas and set an example for other villages.Organising Chairman Christopher Chin said the goal of organising the programme was to instil the right attitude and increase awareness among the community, especially coastal residents not to throw garbage into the sea.

“This plastic exchange programme allows residents to collect plastic waste such as plastic bottles and bring them to the community hall and exchange for money,” he said.
