KETUA Pengarah Kesihatan Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah menegaskan, tempoh dua minggu pelaksanaan ‘lockdown’ akan datang merupakan tempoh yang kritikal untuk negara mengurangkan bilangan kes kepada 4,000.
Beliau berkata dalam tempoh berkenaan, kerjasama semua pihak amat diperlukan untuk membantu melandaikan lekuk Covid-19, yang masih mencatatkan bilangan kes harian yang tinggi. Namun, pada masa sama beliau turut kesal dengan tindakan sesetengah pihak yang masih melakukan pergerakan yang tidak perlu, termasuk perhimpunan seperti parti keramaian dan majlis.Negara merekodkan sejumlah 5,793 kes baharu harian Covid-19 hari ini berbanding 6,849 kes semalam, manakala jumlah kes sembuh Covid-19 dalam tempoh 24 jam juga sekali lagi mencatatkan angka tertinggi sejak pandemik itu melanda Malaysia, dengan 8,334 kes berbanding 7,749 semalam.
Kerajaan pada 28 Mei lepas memutuskan, untuk melaksanakan sekatan pergerakan penuh sektor sosial dan ekonomi fasa pertama di seluruh negara bagi tempoh 14 hari bermula 1 hingga 14 Jun. – Bernama, 12 Jun, 2021.
