KEPUTUSAN Mahkamah Sesyen Kuala Terengganu yang mendenda dua pemburu haram warga Vietnam RM1.56 juta setiap seorang, adalah jumlah tertinggi pernah dikenakan untuk jenayah hidupan liar dalam sejarah negara, kata Menteri Air, Tanah dan Sumber Asli Dr Xavier Jayakumar. Mengulas keputusan mahkamah itu pada Rabu yang turut memerintahkan dua pemburu haram warga Vietnam dipenjara dua tahun, Dr Xavier yang menyambut baik keputusan itu berkata, ia membuka harapan baharu dalam usaha kementerian untuk memerangi jenayah terhadap hidupan liar.
