JOHOR BARU: A cyclist was badly injured after she met with an accident on Tuesday (March 15) at 2.30pm at Jalan Persisiran Perling, Taman Perling near here.

Larkin Fire and Rescue station chief Mohd Suhaimi Jamal said it received an emergency call on the incident involving her and two cars.

He said 10 firemen, one Fire Rescue Tender vehicle and an Emergency Medical Response Services from the Larkin Fire and Rescue station were deployed to the scene. “Initial investigations showed the 60-year-old cyclist was trying to cross to the other side of the road when she was hit by a car,’’ Mohd Suhaimi said in a statement.

He said the victim lost control after she was hit by the car, causing her to slip under the other car parked by the roadside. “The victim suffered from head injuries after hitting the front mirror of the car,’’ said Mohd Suhaimi.Mohd Suhaimi said the victim was sent to a nearby hospital and the operation led by senior officer II, Mohd Haizrul Rahmad ended at around 2.59pm.
