The Health Ministry said through data released on its CovidNow portal on Saturday that this brings the new total to 4,589,911 cases since the pandemic began.The CovidNow portal also said that there were 2,224 recoveries on Friday, bringing the total number of active cases in Malaysia to 35,198.

Of the active cases, 96.3% or 33,888 individuals are undergoing home quarantine, while 27 people or 0.1% are being treated at low-risk quarantine and treatment centres . Only 3.5% of active cases or 1,241 individuals needed to be hospitalised, with 42 warded in intensive care units throughout the country.
