Malaysia recorded 4,020 new Covid19 infections on July 7, the first time new cases have breached the 4,000 mark since April 24. The CovidNow portal reported 1,718 recoveries, bringing the total number of active cases in Malaysia to 33,839. Read more at

The Health Ministry said through data released on its CovidNow portal on Friday that this brings the new total to 4,586,322 cases since the pandemic began.The CovidNow portal also said that there were 1,718 recoveries, bringing the total number of active cases in Malaysia to 33,839.

Of the active cases, 96.4% or 32,617 individuals are undergoing home quarantine, while 21 people or 0.1% are being treated at low-risk quarantine and treatment centres .Of that number, 23 require ventilator support.
