KUCHING: Sarawak recorded 21 new positive Covid-19 cases and another death on Tuesday (March 31), bringing the total number of cases in the state to 156 and eight fatalities.

Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian said the latest victim was a 40-year-old lecturer from Kota Samarahan who died at the Sarawak General Hospital here.

"Most of these come from our screening centre at the Youth and Sports Complex here, which is a joint effort by SGH and Universiti Malaysia Sarawak. He also said the committee was looking into setting up more quarantine centres in Kuching, with the Aminuddin Baki Education Leadership and Management Training Institute and the Inland Revenue Board Academy proposed as new venues to cope with any eventuality.

Dr Sim also urged the public to be self-disciplined and comply strictly with the MCO to curb the Covid-19 outbreak.
