KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): A total of 117,563 doses of vaccine jabs were administered on Thursday (June 3) - the highest number of daily vaccinations since the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme was implemented 100 days ago on Feb 24.

The Special Committee on COVID-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee said that of the total, 109,827 individuals received their first jab while 7,736 others received their second dose.As of Thursday, the Committee reported that 3,330,436 individuals had received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, with 1,122,420 of them completing both doses.

On Thursday, National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme coordinating minister Khairy Jamaluddin said the government had set a target of administering 150,000 vaccine shots per day this month before increasing it to 200,000 shots by July. Khairy, who is also the Science, Technology and Innovation Minister, said the target would be achieved through the establishment of more vaccination centres, including at 1,000 private clinics nationwide, as well as through the drive-through system. - Bernama
