KUALA LUMPUR: Police have opened investigations over the alleged sale of forged digital vaccination certificates.

Federal CID director Comm Datuk Seri Abd Jalil Hassan said they received a police report following an article which was uploaded on Facebook."We have opened investigations under Section 22 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act for giving false information and misuse of networking facilities under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act," he said in a statement on Wednesday .

He advised the public to refrain from involvement in any activities connected to forging and selling digital vaccination certificates. "The public is also advised to report such activities to the police if they come across any information on these activities," he said. It was reported that a senior doctor at Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah Alor Setar posted on Facebook that fake digital certificates were being sold at RM15 each.Article type: metered
