Bukit Aman criminal investigation department director Shuhaily Zain said an audit would be conducted regularly to determine whether the assets declared were in proportion with the officers’ means. “If someone has a valid reason, I won’t prohibit them from buying a car. If the car was bought with legitimate money, who am I to stop them from using that vehicle?” he said at a press conference today.
Last week, Shuhaily issued a stern warning to his colleagues in the CID unit against colluding with criminal syndicates for money.
