Gombak will be one of the hottest seats with current PKR Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari taking on former mentri besar Datuk Seri Azmin Ali, who won on a PKR ticket in 2018 but led a defection to Bersatu after the Sheraton Move in 2020.
The Kuala Selangor constituency will also be an interesting one with Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz colliding with former health minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad. The nearby Tanjung Karang parliamentary seat will also be on the radar given that its six-term incumbent Tan Sri Noh Omar has been sidelined to make way for the division’s Wanita Umno chief Datuk Habibah Mohd Yusof.
Already, an Umno member, Mohd Rosni Mastol, 59, is standing as an Independent to protest Noh’s exclusion.
