BATU PAHAT: The body of a fisherman who went missing after the boat he was in capsized here has been found.

Batu Pahat OCPD Asst Comm Ismail Dollah said the victim, identified as Chia Hock Neng, 60, was found after the boat drifted about 500m to the Parit Hailam beach.

"The body was then sent to the Batu Pahat Maritime Jetty at 5.40pm before being sent to Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital for further action," he said in a statement. "We deployed 22 personnel to the location, including nine water rescue units to help with the rescue operation.On Sept 14, two fishermen were rescued after their boat capsized in Parit Hailam waters.
