SEREMBAN: Following claims by certain parties that they were collecting donations on its behalf, Hospital Tuanku Ja'afar (HTJ) here has clarified that it did not appoint any individual to raise funds for healthcare frontliners handling Covid-19 cases.

The HTJ management said it had nothing to do with a message on social media soliciting donations from the public.

"We did not appoint any individual to manage any funds raised on our behalf. For any queries, the public can call us at 06-768 4000 or drop us an email atIn the message, an individual wrote that he was raising funds for Covid-19 frontliners at HTJ. The writer claimed that he was in touch with a medical officer at the hospital who was managing donations for some 150 healthcare personnel.

He went on to say he would accept donations as low as RM1, adding that donors could remit the sum into his bank account.
