KUALA LUMPUR: The saga involving the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) and two of their top players – Lee Zii Jia and Goh Jin Wei – is finally over.

In a press statement released yesterday, the BAM said they have lifted Zii Jia and Jin Wei’s two-year sanction from all international tournaments with immediate effect.

The announcement of setting their players free came after a meeting between the BAM leadership and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, which was attended by Zii Jia and Jin Wei yesterday. The BAM said they took into consideration the appeals made by both players before reaching the decision to release them from their respective contracts with the national body according to mutually agreed terms and conditions.
