Norhisham Saharuddin, who was with the Rembau District Council, had earlier pleaded guilty to the offences before judge Rushan Lutfi Mohamed.
The accused was charged with six counts of soliciting and accepting bribes totalling RM1,050 from the traders between 2020 and 2022. The bribes were an inducement to not take action against them for running their business without a valid licence.Mohamad Azriff Firdaus Mohamad Ali from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission prosecuted.
