KEMENTERIAN Sains, Teknologi dan Inovasi mengarahkan Akademi Sains Negara melaksanakan kaji selidik bagi mendapatkan data tepat peratusan pelajar lepasan Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia dan Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia yang dikatakan tidak mahu menyambung pelajaran. Menterinya Dr Adham Baba berkata kaji selidik dibuat bagi mengesahkan kenyataan Jabatan Perangkaan Malaysia Julai lalu yang memaklumkan lebih 70 peratus lepasan SPM enggan menyambung pelajaran.

The proposed plan was put forward by State Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun who expressed hope that Yayasan Sabah would take up the proposal for consideration to be submitted to the national oil company. “I’ve asked Yayasan Sabah if they can use their (UCSF) campus in Sembulan as a proposed site since all facilities are already ready there. What is needed is to introduce courses related to O&G and while nothing was formally discussed, I believe Petronas is open to discussions. But finally, it is up to Yayasan Sabah to fine-tune the proposal and see if it is in line with Petronas’ plans in Sabah,” he told reporters after launching the Sabah-Petronas Human Capital Development Agenda programme, here.
