Bercakap kepada Utusan Malaysia, Abu Bakar berkata, laporan polis berkenaan dibuat bagi menafikan dakwaan berkenaan yang merupakan cubaan bagi memecah belahkan gabungan PN di negeri ini. Terdahulu, tular satu klip di laman Tik Tok yang memaparkan dakwaan bahawa Abu Bakar merupakan individu membuat laporan kepada SPRM berhubung kes membabitkan anak Menteri Besar Perlis itu.
Selain itu, media juga melaporkan Mohd. Shukri turut diambil keterangan oleh SPRM berhubung dakwaan salah guna kuasa.
