Thousands of amateur sportspeople will return to pitches across the country today for the first time in months as collective training resumes

Thousands of amateur sportspeople will return to pitches across the country today for the first time in months.

Action has been frozen since last December but GAA, rugby and soccer clubs will get back to business this evening; they are permitted full-contact training in pods of 15. GAA inter-county training came back on 19 April. A week later, juvenile soccer, GAA and athletics training resumed while golf courses and tennis courts reopened.
