Met Eireann's weekend forecast predicts that temperatures will drop to zero over the next few evenings.
In true Irish fashion, dry and calm does not mean there won't be any rain: showers, rain and drizzle will hit different parts of the country every day for the next four days. More widespread showers will develop in the afternoon, showers generally light and mixed with sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees with a moderate westerly breeze.Any lingering showers will largely die out, becoming isolated and confined to western and southwestern coastal areas overnight where it will be cloudiest.Friday will be a largely dry day.
Breezes will strengthen on western coasts during the afternoon. Highest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees.Light rain and drizzle will develop in western coastal counties early in the night, with drier weather further east.Light to moderate southwest breezes will be fresh on western coasts for a time. Lowest temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees.There will be occasional outbreaks of light showery rain or drizzle during the day.
