Terrible weather is set to hit large parts of Ireland today

Thirteen counties have been given a status yellow thunderstorm warning for this afternoon as horrid conditions arrive.

Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan and Tipperary are all under the warning. All of Ireland is likely to get some rain today with weather chiefs predicting a mixed bag of weather.
