Viewers of RTE's Home Of The Year programme last night seemed to be unanimous on which gorgeous house was their favourite.
A complete renovation of the cottage, which dates back to the late 1800s, had involved adding an extra floor, knocking walls, and craftily using space to optimise storage and comfort. The interior experts were also impressed by the light in the home, and said functionality was "maximised" in the small space.
"The cottage in Dublin should win this, what imagination," stated another viewer, while one added that "the cottage was definitely a worthy winner".The second of three homes featured last night was a renovated farmhouse in Co Cork. A floor net on the landing and a climbing wall in one of the rooms were just some of the quirky elements added to the home.
The house is built on Richard Brown's family farm where he and his wife Lara have created a minimal yet traditional living space.
