Despite concerns over the impact the Dublin Marathon has on traffic in the city centre, this year's race will again start and finish in the centre of the capital.

Concerns had been raised with the event organisers about the impact the marathon has on traffic around Merrion Square over the October Bank Holiday weekend. Confirming the news, race director Jim Aughney told the Irish Examiner:"We are thrilled to confirm that the Irish Life Dublin Marathon will be on the streets of Dublin's city centre.
