Declassified US report says Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman 'approved' murder of Washington Post journalist

Image: PA Image: PA A US INTELLIGENCE REPORT has found that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman approved the killing of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi.

The writer had been told by Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to the United States to go to the Saudi consulate in Istanbul if he wanted to obtain documents for his forthcoming marriage to a Turkish woman, Hatice Cengiz. “Since 2017, the crown prince has had absolute control of the kingdom’s security and intelligence operations, making it highly unlikely that Saudi officials would have carried out an operation of this nature without the crown prince’s authorisation,” the two-year-old report said.

Biden ordered a declassified version to be released as part of a reset in which Washington is distancing itself from the prince.

One crisis at a time unless they are of course intertwined? We reopen first and then we consider climate change and not in any other order! It is time! Couldn’t he have zoomed the information instead of flying over the Atlantic to preach? It's funny how it stopped being a crisis while covid was happening. Could it be they are interlinked? David McWilliams: This St Patrick’s Day, Ireland should do a vaccine deal with the USOther countries have put the welfare of citizens first and secured alternative vaccines Eventually when this is over Irish media should take stock of their performance. Virtually no questioning of Government or HSE only in the last couple of days has there been any reporting on the lack of urgency in getting vacine out. Just get the best vaccine available right now and lets reopen in August 2021, not August 2022. This 'rollout' is a deathly shambles with people dying every day.
