Clare woman Lisa O’Connor feels grateful that her film about abortion rights in Ireland has been received so well by critics.
Lisa is originally from Clare but is based in London and was one of the thousands of people who came home to vote in 2018. “I found the whole experience of Repeal emotional. I’m from Clare, a lot of people in my area and even my close family were no voters and it did hurt, but I had to learn how to move past it.
“Savita was the catalyst for Repeal the 8th. She brought the anger we needed to overthrow this part of the constitution,” Lisa explained. Lisa held a screening for Fleeting to a full cinema in London and is delighted with how it’s been received by family, friends and critics so far.
