The media minister has hit out at the ‘shocking’ €450,000 exit package awarded to the former chief financial officer

A cap on exit payments for RTÉ ’s high earners has been threatened by Catherine Martin in light of revelations that one former executive was paid €450,000 to leave the organisation. The media minister’s intervention comes after the revelation that Breda O’Keeffe , RTÉ ’s former chief financial officer, availed of a “shocking” €450,000 exit agreement in 2020.

Martin said that O’Keeffe’s exit payment was “eye-watering” and said that a cap on future exit packages needed to be implemented.
