Durham police are putting out a fraud alert after somebody tricked a Clarington couple into handing over their bank cards and PINs.
The seniors were called February 7 by a man pretending to be a bank employee. He told them their accounts had been compromised, and that a courier would be coming over to pick up their cards and hand them over to police.He took their credit and debit cards, along with other information.The man is described as between 25 and 35-years-old, with a medium build, long black hair and a full black beard. He was wearing a green baseball cap , a green sweater and grey pants.
