Sault firefighters responded to two separate trailer fires in the city's core on Friday afternoon. In the first call, crews were dispatched to a trailer and garage fire on Toronto Street, at Alexandra Street. The fire was close to a gas meter on an adjacent home. A police forensics van was at the scene and the surrounding streets were closed to traffic until an all-clear was sounded. Shortly after, firefighters were called to a trailer behind a Cathcart Street residence, near James Street.
Black smoke from the fire could be seen from a distance and the flames from the trailer spread to the adjacent standalone garage. SooToday will provide more information on these incidents as it becomes available
