Agreed. Get rid of the Monarchy. UK has held Canada back for decades. Taxpayer pay for it and our politicians like the elitism. The UK and Monarchy have stripped Canada of our wealth and subjugated our people for too long. They have always looked down on us. We need to grow up!

I always wonder who they are polling. Happy to be part of the Commonwealth. Need to have a different identity than USA.

Who in the fak does that in Canada?

Which just goes to show that more than half of Canadians don't understand their own Constitution.

Interesting that all politicians have an oath to her and not to the People of the Canada

More than half of Canadians oppose Oath of Allegiance to the QueenA Leger poll for the Association of Canadian Studies found that 56 per cent of respondents did not agree with swearing allegiance to the Queen. Many other countries to move to that don’t require it Baiting this story over and over in the Queen's autumn years strikes me as easy click-bait, it's ill advised and even less thought out.....what problem does this solve? without clutching pearls the answer is not so clear. As much as I respect Queen Elizabeth, and the years she has served, I agree with the below.
