A Leger poll for the Association of Canadian Studies found that 56 per cent of respondents did not agree with swearing allegiance to the Queen.New Canadians have to swear an oath to the monarchy at citizenship ceremonies including a pledge to "be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, Queen of Canada, her heirs and successors."

As they should. Another country’s walking anachronism is completely at odds with the charter that places equality of all Canadians paramount. Take her off the currency and replace with a true Canadian icon to be proud of: Terry Fox. Literally a no brainer.

Its I am Proud to pledge Oath Of Alligiance, I am Proud of our country , commonwealth countries, Democracy! 🤗

We live in a commonwealth country. They can move then. Holy people forget where they live !

If people come to this country and do not want to make an oath of Allegiance to the Queen that is their choice not to become a Canadian citizen. Don’t come and change our laws. You left a country that did not do what you wanted so you came to Canada to change our laws. NO.

It is an iteration of console having a rotoundous construct around yourself for death and birth by the convening activity of hairlesness cream and adorning a crown and a robe and their is other family's and I don't know why that's taught in school.

80%+ swear allegiance to Pfizer.

Yeah why should I give oath to someone, because where she was born

The left hates everything traditional, and we are a far-left country, so where's the news?

Bs more then half don't even know bout it other half are not born Canadians to have a say

Like we have no other issues to worry about in Canada right now.

We human's regardless of which society we live in only care what 'rights' and 'privileges' are bestowed upon us, without earning them. Duty, honour & loyalty are 3 forms of currency quickly going the way of the Dodo in the 21st century. Long live the Queen! 🇬🇧

Them’s the rules

Canada as a Republic

I'm not doing an oath of allegiance to anyone/anything

It's 2024. Who is your favourite head of state? [ ] the British monarch [ ] President Justin Trudeau [ ] President Stephen Harper

Abolish the Monarchy

New Canadians have to swear an oath to the monarchy at citizenship ceremonies including a pledge to 'be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, Queen of Canada, her heirs and successors.'

Many other countries to move to that don’t require it Baiting this story over and over in the Queen's autumn years strikes me as easy click-bait, it's ill advised and even less thought out.....what problem does this solve? without clutching pearls the answer is not so clear. As much as I respect Queen Elizabeth, and the years she has served, I agree with the below.
