RCMP have arrested a man who they had described as dangerous and armed with a firearm after an incident in Lunenburg County on Wednesday morning.
Police issued an alert just before 8:30 a.m. saying the man was on foot and last seen on Barrs Corner Road between Farmington and Whetstone Lake roads.. Residents: Seek immediate SHELTER or STAY INSIDE and close and lock doors and windows. Do not leave a secure location. Suspect last seen on foot.Residents had been advised to seek immediate shelter, stay inside, and lock all doors and windows and not offer rides to anyone or pick up hitchhikers.Const.
“Based on that, there were concerns for people’s safety in the area, which is why the alert went out,” he said. There was no immediate indication of anything having happened involving the firearm before the man was spotted, but that’s still under investigation, Thompson said.
