One prominent New Democrat came out against the policy on Monday, calling it a massive overreach that must be fixed

While gun owners and advocates are using Price’s comments to advance their cause, those seeking tighter control on firearms say Tuesday’s 33rd anniversary of the École Polytechnique massacre — where a gunman murdered 14 women in 1989 — should serve as a reminder of the lives taken by armed criminals. The team’s owner told Radio-Canada on Monday that the 35-year-old Price was not aware of the 1989 massacre.

Separately, a spokesperson for Public Security Minister Marco Mendicino told La Presse that the firearm Price is carrying in his Instagram post would not be banned under Bill C-21.Article content But as political parties of all stripes consolidate their membership’s views on one of Canada’s most polarizing issues, Queens University political science Professor Kathy Brock said gun control offers a unique dilemma to the NDP, who rely heavily on both inner-city voters and those in rural parts of the country.

“They are putting the NDP in a very difficult position that could cause a bit of a schism and tension in the relationship between the NDP and Liberals, but also within the NDP party.”Article content

No surprise ,they don't even think the military should have guns ,Just have tools to help out in ice storms and floods .and be more like the Scouts and Red Cross

I wonder why…

NDP support will be given as long as the NDP think there is something in it for them.

The NDP sold their soul to Trudeau for a few pennies.

There they are, 2 birds of a feather. Gerald FitzPatrick and Patrick FitzGerald

I mean ndp will do anything for any party willing to give them a slice of toast these days… why are they here..

Eff off NP the lying propaganda rag. Stop lying for the fascist Conservatives.

This will be interesting.

Well its a collusion for ndp to become the opposition .they will win the conservative big time in the next election ..the wef will.make it happen

Singh needs to step down. He was a cheerleader, dragging his wife out in costumes that cost more than 80% of Canadians rent, telling us he still stood beside us while supporting the policies that fucked us. Jack Layton had every vote I was allowed until he retired. You're a mess.

As it should!

Jagmeet will support anything Trudeau and Klaus propose regardless of how his supporters feel about it. The saddest part of it all is, most of his supporters refuse to see it.

If Jagmeet wants to surprise me and show that he is not just Trudeau's sockpuppet, now would be the time. I'm not holding my breath.

It's about control.Nothing to do with public safety. Governments are afraid of their own people.

The anti-gun community is hands down the most hypocritical and emotionally unintelligent group of self-righteous fakes in politics today. Lacking basic critical thinking skills they are afraid to do their own research and form their own opinions. Absolutely pathetic.

I’d like to know who is going to collect these guns. Does the government realize how many are out there and how will they account for guns bought that really didn’t require registration and could be sold to anyone with a PAL without records of sale.

At the end of the day theJagmeetSingh will once again support Justin Trudeau and the liberal government.

Here, social assistance people got them 1st, along with students who didn't have much income. Then the CPP/OAS crowd got them. The crowd with an income around $30,000 is getting them this week.
