Hugs and handshakes after Calgary businessman, former city cop found not guilty of perjury

There were handshakes and hugs between the men — Ken Carter, 71, and Steve Walton, 65 — and their lawyers, Brian Greenspan and Alain Hepner, following the acquittals Friday, six years after the men were charged.

The pair had been accused of lying under oath about their business relationship during Carter's family court trial in 2014. In his nearly three-hour decision, Court of Queen's Bench Justice David Labrenz said he had "reasonable doubt" as to whether Carter and Walton had lied, although he said in some instances it was "likely" they had intentionally misled the court.Carter and Akele Taylor were in the middle of a breakup and bitter custody fight over their young daughter in 2012 and 2013.

Around that time, Carter hired Walton, a retired Calgary Police Service officer who, along with his wife, ran an unlicensed private investigation firm.

Hockey Canada commissions former Supreme Court justice to lead review into governance | CBC NewsHockey Canada has hired former Supreme Court Justice Thomas Cromwell to lead a review into the organization’s governance structure amid growing calls for its leadership to step down over its handling of alleged sexual assault cases. I for one am shocked that hockey people could be so corrupt and incompetent when it comes to running a large organization. The way Canadians navel gaze and tilt at windmills this will probably generate a 10,000-page report that will cost millions and will end up being ignored. It's what we do though eh. Should Justin Trudeau step down to because he had sex with a 14 year old when he was a teacher?

The people who claim ther are all about inclusion are actually the least inclusive!! You can’t have it both ways I’m sure the UCP members will be devastated. So they stand for exclusively and division?
