He should be welcomed as an Independent voice in the House of Commons, despite the fact he once faced charges that were dropped

But neither the ruling party nor the military determines who may be elected. In a democracy, voters make that decision.Article content

Of course, many ballots had been cast by mail or at advanced polls before the scandal broke. Campaign announcements, news stories and shifts in public opinion routinely occur after advance polls have closed. When citizens opt to vote early, they necessarily forfeit the ability to consider further information in making their choice.

Some Liberal supporters who knew that Vuong was no longer the official candidate presumably still voted for him as the candidate most aligned with Liberal policies. But such partisan voting does not entitle the party leadership to demand a different representative than the one elected. In the past five years, nine MPs other than Vuong were removed from the Liberal caucus for various reasons, including criminal charges. All completed their terms as Independents.

Not the same situation. The former MP was already in when he got dropped, he used a political party brand to get in.

This is rich coming from this rag 😂

For the woke, an allegation is enough to damn the person to cancel-mart.

Endorsed by Erin Weir and the Post. See how low your reputation has sunk KevinVuongTO? Only one way to redeem yourself now. Resign.

A lesson for those caught up in the cult of the leader and emphasis on party. On the ballot you are voting for the candidate.

This is politics not criminal law. People did not get the full picture about this individual before they voted. He didn’t come clean about an important incident in his past when he was supposed to being all this up when being vetted. Vetting is about bringing information forward.

He violated election laws by continuing to publish Liberal affiliation after being ejected from the liberal_party via his Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn accounts up until September 21st.

Hang in there Kevin Trudeau didn’t resign

Toronto elected him, Toronto can live with their own stupidity.

So does pretrial detention. Presumption of innocence is about the burden of proof in criminal proceedings. It does not prohibit consideration of the charges for all purposes.

It's not about benefit of the doubt or presumption of innocence... it's ALL about deceiving the political party and the voters he once associated with! He's worse than BaitAndSwitch!

Which Lawyer has said this? I want actual names.

Every ballot cast in his riding was invalid as it had him listed as a Liberal.

There's something queer about that face. My gaydar is going off.

The PM of Canada admitted to sexual assault. It didn't stop him. Good for the goose.
