Breakenridge: Trudeau would be well-advised to accept Smith's invitation, bluff or not cdnpoli ableg abpoli

Mind you, it would be hard to know how sincere such a request would be in the first place. But if there’s an opportunity to put fears to rest about a controversial or provocative piece of legislation — and to show a conciliatory side — then take the offer. It would actually be laudable if Alberta’s premier helped craft federal legislation in a way that’s favourable to the province’s interests, but it also has the political consequence of negating the need for a premier who’s constantly on a war footing.Article content Yes, the concept of the “just transition” is predicated on a preference for such a phase-out. Titles of government bills are much less relevant than their contents, but in this instance, abandoning the “just transition” terminology would be helpful.

The premier wants a “vow” that the bill “will be designed to incentivize investment and job growth in both the conventional energy sector as well as in emerging industries.” There’s also a request to “expand LNG exports to Asia and Europe” and for Ottawa “set reasonable and meaningful emissions reductions targets” that won’t be unilaterally imposed on Alberta.

Lol Breakenridge is such a stooge. The PM has already spend far too much time and money listening to the people from a party that blame him for every single problem under the sun, even the ones they caused themselves. 🙄🙄🙄

Nope, don't play the unelected premier's games. Work with the elected premier later.

Hey JustinTrudeau , should you choose to accept, I’ll personally deliver some hearty Ukrainian Borscht to thank you for the billions you’ve sent to Ukraine; and then take the leftovers to starving seniors in my community… since leftovers is all we get from you anyway…

Nah - that conversation needs a good-faith provincial rep before anything productive can result. Lets get normal, responsible, non-separatist Provincial government in place first, then start discussions.

Smith, who is deathly afraid of a press conference, lives off of hurling feces short distances at people thousands of miles away.

Smith isn’t worth the time of day. Since Kenney’s day one all the ucp has done is whine about the feds. You know like that little kid who cries all day or the dog that barks all day. Same S,,, over and over and over,,,,

Nah. Her ministers and officials were invited to meetings. They didn’t show up. PS no votes in Alberta anyway.

Breakenridge is playing the government-funded media game like a champ. This isn't about Trudeau 2.0--it's an indictment of Smith's Alberta 1st policy. FreetheWest

Yeah right, he's a huge coward
