Woodside interim boss O’Neill stakes claim for permanent posting | NickToscano1

Woodside Petroleum’s acting chief executive, Meg O’Neill, has signalled her ambition to be made the oil and gas giant’s permanent CEO, introducing organisational changes that observers say could help bolster her pitch.

“Smart move by the new CEO to rapidly signal a new chapter for Woodside under her leadership,” Mr Kavonic said. Woodside, Australia’s top oil and gas producer, stunned the market earlier this month when the board said Mr Coleman would step down at least two months sooner than planned. However, Mr Goyder told Woodside’s annual investor meeting last week there had been “a lot of unfounded speculation” concerning the CEO succession planning and process. “That’s not surprising given the prominence of this role,” he said.
