A WA Parks and Wildlife manager who posed for photos with dead big-game animals in Africa has been removed from his position by the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions.A review of his role was ordered after concerns were raised by a group of local citizens who sent images from Mr Crossberg's personal Facebook page to the media.
In a statement released this morning the director general of the department, Mark Webb, confirmed the decision to remove Mr Crossberg. "Future recruitment undertakings, particularly for leadership positions within the department, will prioritise strong value alignment with the department and any potential successful applicant."Speaking on ABC Perth this morning, acting Premier Roger Cook said it was the "right decision" and he shared Mr McGowan's "disgust at those photos".
ABC Radio talkback caller and Esperance resident Nigel Walker said Mr Crossberg has been harshly treated and he felt the photos were "irrelevant" to his role.

For anyone that actually cares to educate themselves, sustainable hunting practices pay for a large number of conservation efforts overseas. As long as it's done ethically, sustainably, and benefits the local community then I see no harm in it and think that this is an injustice.
