The director of the FBI says Chinese President Xi Jinping is behind a plot to force critics to return to China with agents being sent to threaten families overseas.

Chinese officials have been trying to force people to return to China from the United States under a program of coercion led by President Xi Jinping, the head of the FBI says.The director of the FBI says as well as coercing overseas critics, China is trying to interfere with US efforts to fight coronavirusHe says families of those who refuse to return have been threatened and arrested

He said Mr Xi has spearheaded a program called Fox Hunt, which aims to silence criticism of Beijing's political and human rights policies. "The Chinese Government wants to force them to return to China and China's tactics to accomplish this are shocking."Beijing has denied targeting the US with cyber espionage.Mr Wray related a case in which he said the Chinese Government sent an emissary to the US to visit the family of someone who could not be located.

Not just in USA. It very obviously happens here as well and we have been sleep-walking through it.

it’s all part of a political game between these two countries. hopefully our government is smart enough not get involved in this mud again.

This is the face of a nasty man. He has absolute power now, and an entire party of self-interested party officials who obey for an easier life and privileges. No different to any other communist leader and party this world has seen.

Yes, there was an incident on the streets of Melbourne there was an interrogation in a hotel room by Chinese officials. If a person is of Chinese ethnicity they are considered to be citizens of China no matter where they live or what passport they hold.

The US should grant them citizenship then. All talks no action.

I think China is a money hungery country that thinks they should be immune to any outside criticism
