Julian Assange’s lawyer wife Stella has said the couple don’t yet know the full impact his long incarceration had on his health in one of her first interviews since his release following a 14-year legal ordeal. Assange pleaded guilty to the US Espionage Act in a US court in the Northern Mariana Islands as part of a plea deal, but he did say he believed it contradicted the US constitution’s First Amendment protecting free speech.

Stella Assange joins Sunrise to give update on husband Julian’s health. Assange spent the past five years in a high-security UK prison and seven years before that at the Ecuadorian embassy in London trying to avoid arrest following his publication of classified US documents in 2010 and 2011. On Thursday, Stella Assange joined Nat and Shirvo on Sunrise, where she was asked about Assange’s health following his ordeal.
