Mark Gorrie, the Australia-Pacific senior director of cybersecurity company NortonLifeLock, said boarding passes featured information that can make it very easy for anyone to uncover more personal details than what are printed on the paper.Blogger Alex Hope used the booking reference that was visible on the boarding pass to log in to Qantas' website and was able to view personal details.

Hope said he had tried to scan the barcode on Mr Abbott's pass, but then realised the booking reference was printed on it so he used that to log in to Qantas' website and found Mr Abbott's details. about software that could dig into the data locked away behind pictures of barcodes and QR codes on tickets and boarding passes.

TimBiggs What was the purpose of posting it anyway?

TimBiggs The information was not 'misused'. The guy did everything he could (with great difficulty) to notify all concerned, AND waited for a fix to be instituted before publishing (also for the greater good). But hey, don't let the truth get in the way of a sensationalist headline.

TimBiggs Who is flying anyway? Boarders are closed in case you hadn’t realised.

TimBiggs Isn’t that called not being dumb ? whythough

And this is a problem why? Funny how 'diversity' always means less white people. Wacky idea i know but why do we just judge people on what they do and not what they look like?

Why are Australian musicals so white?Australian musical theatre needs to embrace more diverse casting, taking a lead from the diversity rules announced last week for the Academy Awards, says director and composer Matthew Frank How about the dam media as well you racist bastards if I was in government I would bring more than 15 million people of colour to this country this will certainly destroy the libs and Murdoch auspol I’d settle for more talented casting - and then we could let the racial quotas take care of themselves. But seeing how miserably talentless Australian theatre is, I suppose gawking at “diversity” might be a fair substitute for entertainment. Why are corroborees so black?
