Why Australia should not have a public register of child sex offendersPeter Dutton wants a national register to identify child abusers, but all the evidence from the US suggests it won't make children safer. Invite him/her/Xir in for tea and scones. . I’d like a public register of bank CEOs and chairpersons, instead. I wouldn’t want one living next door. It won't make them safer because it is their clubs and churchers that have the sex offenders. It does give a false sense of security.

What is pill testing? The recent deaths of young people after taking party drugs at festivals has prompted calls for organised pill testing at events. So what would that look like? And why is it so controversial? It’s also promoted calls for the no pill testing policy to continue. I assume this will be tomorrow’s story. You know ... for balance. So you’re not accused of any sort of bias. Doomed to fail, a tested pill will eventually kill a user and the lawyers will sue, killing a good intention by the govt/organizers who will then be frozen by fear at the financial ramifications of an overdose. You can do what you like with the pills as long as taxpayers do not bear the cost of it. The words personal responsibility spring to mind.
