Sky News host Peta Credlin says she agrees with Foreign Minister Peter Dutton's stance that Australia must put our country's needs first during the coronavirus crisis and only help others after “we’ve looked after ourselves”.

|Sky News host Peta Credlin says she agrees with Foreign Minister Peter Dutton's stance that Australia must put our country's needs first during the coronavirus crisis and only help others after “we’ve looked after ourselves”. “With so much happening under the hammer blows of the corona crisis, it's not surprising that there's a bit of mixed messaging going on,” Ms Credlin said.

“It's only once we've looked after ourselves when it comes to medical equipment and health supplies - and, indeed, all the basics that a country might need in a crisis that we can start supplying it to others”. Ms Credlin said, after the effects of this virus are felt, as a nation “above all else … we must end up a more self-reliant country”. She also said our politicians, on both sides of the political spectrum, must conduct plenty of “soul-searching” in the future.

The back packers are desperately needed out in the bush as tractor drivers but are scared of the ‘no travelling’ rules and the talk of huge fines. Lazy bloody Aussies won’t drive out there. Even now.

Those thieving Liberal mongrels always look after themselves. Privatized everything to there mates, slashed budgets of essential services to give tax cuts to their rich corporate mates.Yeah right, the Libs put someone before themselves will happen when the pig flies over the moon

Peter Dutton as responsible minister must resign. His job was to keep our borders secure. He failed miserably and now over 10% of coronavirus cases are due to the Ruby Princess. covid19aus auspol

Dutton let the Ruby Princess in and should resign

And stop selling us to China!!!!

Problem is that Dutton, Morrison and the LNP have been putting themselves before Australians. They are just pigs jostling to steal as much as possible from the trough as quickly as they can.

Well i'm sure Peter feels reassured by your support.

Let’s hope we create a vaccine then. Imagine if someone else does it and tells us to “get stuffed” when we want some.

Sorry, when did Australia not do that? Been a long time we put another country first...

Well Said! Quite Agree!🙏😉

We international students need to have access to our SUPER. We’re losing our jobs as well! Our bills won’t stop! covid19australia coronavirusaus Coronavirustruth

AUSTRALIA FIRST PLEASE! Aussie's must first break addiction to $1 Kmart Corona Crap. MadAsHell

AStrongerOZ They could help Australia by just dissappearing Both are serial fkwits

Time to make our own products. Don't care what it costs find a way. The discounts we've had all these years by buying Chinese products is not worth what we going through now.

Letting the Ruby Princess passengers disembark, how does that put our country's needs first? This isn't going to go away, no point hiding or pointing the finger Mr Dutton.

The Great Wars of the Past enabled few Technological Innovations. Corona Virus has revolutionised our Human SPIRIT. 'All in it together' must be sung as a NATIONAL ANTHEM.Unity in DECLIVITY ,a revelation of Australian valor when called upon to fight a War against a COMMON THREAT.

Thought it was Foreign Minister Peter Dutton...

Should I be concerned given his recent track record?

Dutton didn't stop the boats! That's all propaganda!!!! Plenty of Coronavirus infected people walked off those cruise ships under Duttons watch!!!!!!!

The man who failed to stop the boat. Hundreds of passengers from the Ruby Princes have coronavirus now.

Buy Austrailian made from Austrailian owned and operated companies . Keep it here support it here and boycott Chinese products. I would've thought medical supplies would've been at the top of this list.

Start more manufacturing in Australia, nope. To expensive. Australian has become a import Country tied to China.

As always Peta Credlin is right.

Perhaps looking after Australian agriculture and animal producers would be a good start? Water... dairy prices.. personally I can name 20 farmers I know who have left industry in last 12-24 months. It’s not sustainable or worth it to farm.. long term impact?!

Absolutely!

Don’t pretend foreign assistance is the reason the Libs don’t do enough for local people. 🙄 The neoliberal IPA fanatics wouldn’t spend a dollar more on people in need than is absolutely necessary to stave off the guillotine.

The cruse ship debacle in Fremantle demonstrates how powerless Australia is. when foreigners refuse to do as they are told. Remember the Chinese Navy can Sail into Sydney for baby food, when ever they like. And what is Australia's response. Throw a Boomerang.

He couldn’t even look after his own people!

Yes so stop given foreign aid until we are back on track ScottMorrisonMP 😉

Is even a thing anymore. I thought most of your sheep would be lining up with their hand out for cash.

Does Marisa Payne know about this recent Credlin announcement?

Foreign minister too now?

So peter is alive? Thought the coward did a runner after letting COVIDー19 escape RubyPrincess

Ffs you horrible pos

How does the Ruby Princess fit in with this? auspol

Austraila is 'flattening the curve' of coronavirus infections | Sky News AustraliaTough restrictions enacted by both state and federal governments has allowed Australia to flatten the rate of coronavirus infections in Australia according to NSW Deputy leader John Barilaro.\n\nThere are 4,250 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus COVID-19 in Australia, but the number of infections have been trending slightly downwards over the past few days.\n\nMr Barilaro told Sky News this trend is in part due to tough new restrictions on public gatherings, including the closure of popular recreational outlets like pubs, clubs, restaurants and beauty salons.\n\nHowever, he warned that the disease is not contained yet.\n\n'It only takes one further outbreak in a dense area and before you know it you lose control again,' he said.\n\n'We are only at the start of the curve we are not at the end, but these are good signs and as a government we are still responsible to make sure we end this virus and that is a long way off.'\n\nIt's clear when both levels of Australia work together we can protect our community.' JohnBarilaroMP Its not flat yet A pity some brain dead f*ckwit allowed the passengers of the Ruby Princess to disembark. Australia is STILL waiting for that individual to be sacked. The media have already gone quiet on this topic. Confusion lays with everyone told to stay home yet non-essential shops are open to entice the same people out. Harvey Norman, Kmart, Bunnings, Shiploads and others are all open for what reason? Council also need to look at what is non-essential. Send your staff home!
