Tasmanian Senator JacquiLambie has slammed the Morrison government for approving a $1.5 billion Chinese bid for infant formula maker Bellamy's Organic

for the Tasmanian company, a big exporter of infant formula to the Chinese market.

"There's a lot of us out there who are concerned about what's going on, we can see the buy-ups that are going on in Tasmania, which is concerning in itself, and we are very, very concerned," Senator Lambie toldIt's an embarrassment to the country that they're laying down like a dog on this stuff.

We are allowing the Chinese to waltz in and snatch away one of the leading baby formula manufacturing businesses."Here we are allowing the Chinese to waltz in and snatch away one of the leading baby formula manufacturing businesses, with little consideration for what it means for our country's future; this takes another chunk out of Australia's ability to produce enough food for our own people.

Mr Wilkie also cited the experience of VDL Farms - which traces its history to the creation of the Van Diemen's Land Company with a land grant in 1825 - saying the sale was "farcical" and showed the foreign buyers failed to deliver on "just about any" of their promises.

JacquiLambie Something fishy is going on with the Bellamy's sell-off. There has been total silence from both talkback radio and the ALP on the issue. And the decision was announced under the cover of raging bushfires. Have JoshFrydenberg and ScottMorrisonMP orchestrated a media blackout?

superathlete9 JacquiLambie She's so furious, that they can definitely count on her next time they are stuck for numbers in the senate. As always.

JacquiLambie Hey Jacki you dribble, the dairy farmers have been struggling for years finding markets outside the big supermarkets to break farm gate barriers. Now they have and you complain. Besides bloody Tasmanians sold it to the Chinese you oxygen bandit, complain in you own backyard

JacquiLambie What’s happening in Hong Kong now will happened in Canberra in 50yrs time

JacquiLambie Good on you Jacqui. Just saying is not good enough.

KirrinaBarry JacquiLambie Don't you usually go along with what the lnp do Jacqui? Didn't like what happened here? Neither do a lot of us. Now you know how a lot of us feel when you vote with them on other issues

JacquiLambie I wonder if, given time, the ingredients will assume Chinese specifications.

JacquiLambie Then stop f. voting with them. It's not f. rocket science Jacqui.

JacquiLambie We neex to get rid of the nationals, labor and liberal.they ateselling our countryiamall for independentsand onenation

JacquiLambie As soon as Chinese consumers get word it's a Chinese company, they will change brands.

JacquiLambie No Chinese takeover of any kind including land!!!!!

JacquiLambie I just hope tou dont “roll over” on ScoMo’s “union busting” legislation.

JacquiLambie China blocked Bellamys from selling the formula in China and create all kinds of obstacles to keep the stock price down. They then made this take over bid. It's disgusting that this extortion has been allowed to proceed.

JacquiLambie Oh the smell of an opportunity. But happy to horse trade and bash workers representatives

broomstick33 JacquiLambie Like she rolled over on unions and Indue.

JacquiLambie You might be guilt to, you seemed to be helping them to employers to have injustice go exploiting workers, not just wage, also OH&S bosses breaches. How long before only workers come from China works there You help Gov spent billions, arms when china can take over without a shot

MColvinMcKenzie JacquiLambie At risk of putting facts into the Twitter box... We be clear that most of the organic milk sold by BAL was.... European, NOT Tasmanian... So what was FIRB to do? No you can’t take our high margin labelling organisation.....?

JacquiLambie terrible whatever next for goodness sake keep it here tierd of the bloody politics complete shambles

JacquiLambie Jacqui, just watch as the local workforce is gradually phased out & replaced by Chinese workers who are under Chinese contracts. This is happening in other industries. Paid in China, billited in Chinese run 'dormitory accommodation' including canteen meals.

JacquiLambie Give it to them Jacquil these incompetent corrupt LNP, PM and Ministers are selling down the drain. Why do they do this.? Their reward will be the loss of the next election and we will be governed by minority groups

JacquiLambie FFS Australia, we are letting a totalitarian Communist regime WALK IN AND BUY Australian businesses, and send profits, and produce, to China. Will OUR politicians WAKE UP. ScottMorrisonMP NOT IN OUR INTEREST! You are SELLING US OUT. Stop this idiocy, OUR food security!?

JacquiLambie Jackie Lambie gets it! China REMAINS totalitarian regime, able to produce money at will, to BUY Australia... whilst the gumbies in Canberra call it 'investing'? Someone buys an Australian company, takes profits, and much of the product, overseas, HOW does that benefit us?

JacquiLambie China never needed to fire a shot to take Australia, the interesting part, is when they want to live in the houses they have bought.

JacquiLambie It’s just part of China’s long game....secure/buy off all the surrounding nations, buy up our agricultural land...bingo! They cut off the supply route...and who in Canberra is listening/watching? Selling us out...and we do nothing?

JacquiLambie Brown bags, anyone?

JacquiLambie JacquiLambie You should be aware that everything the Morrison government does is dodgy. You can’t trust them.

JacquiLambie JacquiLambie should do more than slam them. Perhaps she could tell the PM he has lost her vote for all time?

JacquiLambie WE need to keep business in Australia and Australian owned

JacquiLambie Maybe put a for sale sign up for all Australian industries and sell as a job lot to China. With conditions attached, of course.

JacquiLambie China need an endless supply of resources to stop their massively oversized population from eating grass. We should be in a position of strength yet our greedy politicians and execs bend over backwards at the sight of cash. It’s pathetic.

lynda1sherer JacquiLambie Good on you Jacqui - it's time to put Australian workers, farmers & consumers safety & security, back into the hands of Aussies. DoWhatisRight

JacquiLambie the buyer is a state owned corp which could evade tax Another is China's Yancoal

AusRodney JacquiLambie Who prevented Aussies bidding for it?

JacquiLambie exodus started with CommBank - thanks labor.

JacquiLambie WilkieMP The same takeover is happening in the suburbs. Old houses are bought for 1.8 million, then duplexes including granny flats built with Chinese workers. No Australian will ever be able to buy them so the land is practically exported, just like LNG, coal and iron ore

JacquiLambie And she's right. We are a lacklustre nation led by unworthies who will sell us all out for a few dollars and, being unintelligent as well as unworthy, our leaders have no clue how to deal with the present, much less the future. The Chinese call us their colony. Did you know that?

JacquiLambie This is a setup. The people of Australia have been blindly led down a one way alley by a corrupt Bureaucracy for the past forty years. And here we are, the white trash of Asia.

JacquiLambie Please stop trading with China, stop selling iron ore to China immediately! Australia is helping building infrastructures threaten us. Don’t trade with China, no buying or selling! Well, maybe consult your former boss Mr Palmer first?

Chinese company's $1.5b bid for Bellamy's given green light by FrydenbergThe bid for infant formula maker Bellamy's by Chinese company Mengniu Dairy, worth $1.5 billion, had the unanimous backing of the Foreign Investment Review Board, with a number of conditions attached. I wonder what that means for foodsafety standards and detailed product contents and information including origin of specific ingredients. China's rules and practices are somewhat different to Australia's, plus less local accountability if there is an issue. So are we going to see melamine in our baby food from now on? Who would trust any firm owned by the Chinese to produce food fit for purpose? Maybe the FIR Board needs reviewing

ABC slammed over horse cruelty storyRacing NSW has slammed ABC’s 7.30 program for a “false” and “unfair” broadcast on racehorse cruelty which claimed horses were slaughtered “on an industrial scale”. You would believe nothing you hear at the ABC, and very little, of what you see. So...the racehorses WEREN’T discarded, mistreated or slaughtered? They maybe were PRETEND CGI horses or horses actors pretending to get slaughtered? Did my eyes deceive me? The so called science of racehorse cruelty has never been proven. The latte sipping inner city lefties have made this all up. Racehorses have always died in Australia

Russell Crowe’s niece slams ‘bulls**t’ claims actor got special treatment from NSW RFSRussell Crowe’s niece has hit back at claims the actor received preferential treatment from the NSW Rural Fire Service during this week’s bushfire crisis. I would presume the fire fighters have enough to be dealing with without saying to each other 'ooohhh X lives there how about we save that first then we will go next door' the commonsense lacking is some people leaves a lot to be desired But if Crowe didn't ask for the special treatment nor did he expect it but if he was given special treatment (which it sounds like he wasn't) how can Crowe be blamed? This tall poppy / underdog / battler approach to life we have here has gotta stop. I call bs that it ever happened. He wasn’t even in the country. They wouldn’t have known which was his house. Trying to get attention by bringing someone else down is just sick.
