Injury-prone Wallabies star Jordan Petaia is in doubt for the first Bledisloe Cup clash with the All Blacks after suffering a grade two hip flexor injury | samphillips06

Luckless Wallabies star Jordan Petaia is in doubt for the first Bledisloe Cup clash after receiving the results of scans on his injured hip flexor.can reveal the initial prognosis received by the rising star - who would have been a certainty to line up in new coach Dave Rennie's team to face the All Blacks on October 11 - after suffering the injury in the Reds' loss to the Brumbies in the Super Rugby AU grand final.

He is a player of enormous potential but injuries have already cruelled a large part of his promising career. The play in which he suffered the injury showcased his immense talent - creating a try for Wilson from nothing, using speed and strength to beat Brumbies defenders at will. Petaia will arrive in the Hunter Valley with his Reds teammates, who returned to Brisbane after their loss in the Super Rugby AU decider, on Monday afternoon.

Whitehead shines as playmaker in win over WarriorsCanberra lost halfback George Williams to an early head knock against the Warriors, but a much bigger Englishman – Elliott Whitehead - stepped up to star in a 26-14 win.\n Hey how can the Bunker explain the last two calls? Either they're completely incompetent or they're drunk!! The Warriors weren't very good, the Raiders probably would have won anyway, but yet again anything vaguely 50/50 goes against the Warriors with the on and off field officiating. It'd be disheartening except for the fact it happens every week. the official did very well to keep the Raiders in the game. They must be so proud
